Welcome to National Mentoring Month!
- January 20, 2016
January is National Mentoring Month, held annually to promote Youth Mentoring nationwide. Created in 2002 by the Harvard School of Public Health, National Mentoring Month was first endorsed by President George W. Bush. The month focuses on two important points:
- The need for mentors in our community.
- How all members of society can work together to impact the future of our youth.
Common participants for the annual National Mentoring Month include nonprofit organizations and politicians. These individuals help to coordinate local and nationwide campaigns as well as increase media outreach and volunteer recruitment.
CiviCore works with thousands of mentoring programs nationwide and around the world with our MentorCore Youth, MentorCore Higher Education, and custom configured mentoring software. We’re excited to celebrate National Mentoring Month to promote our client’s important efforts, as well as spread the message on the importance of youth mentoring programs.
