Community Partnership System
- February 2, 2013
Over the past year CiviCore has partnered with Denver Public Schools, the City and County of Denver, and the Civic Canopy to create a new system to help track the availability of out-of-school-time and other youth-serving programs in Denver. The Community Partnership System (CPS) is an online tool that fills two vital community needs: creating a comprehensive inventory of available out-of-school-time (OST) programs in Denver and a reporting platform to link providers to Denver Public Schools (DPS) student outcome data. Providers will enter information about their organizations, programs, sites and students served, creating a comprehensive profile of their services. While previous efforts to inventory OST services have been point in time only, the Community Partnership System creates a platform where providers can provide regular, ongoing updates to a program profile. The CPS system currently has over 160 agencies entering information on their programs, including specific sites where the programs are being offered. Agencies are also beginning to upload rosters of students and will be able to get student-level academic and attendance data through the system during the 2013-2014 academic year. The data in CPS will allow parents and other community partners to search for specific OST programs for their children. The system is also designed to help school administrators find programs that they may want to bring into their schools to support their students after-school or during the summer months.
