Fluxx + Neon One Partnership: Uniting Philanthropy to Serve Your Community
- June 6, 2019
In 2017, the top two revenue sources for nonprofits came from individuals and foundation grants. This represents a whopping 86% of all funding that an organization will receive and with the Giving USA 2019 report about to come out, we expect this to only be magnified.
Yet, if you ask the average nonprofit development staff member how they would coordinate and align their grants and individual donations, there would most likely be a pause. It sure sounds compelling to streamline your grant and donor management—after all, improved management would lead to focused services and better impact.
However, servicing a grant and servicing a donation require vastly different approaches and resources. From individuals, donations are more ad-hoc in nature, driven around campaigns and compelling events. From foundations, grants are highly structured, strategic investments to empower nonprofits with both resources to achieve their immediate goals and tools to carry forth the mission in support of longer term impact.
At the core of Neon One is a commitment to curating a toolkit for nonprofits, foundations, and educational institutions to conquer technology hurdles so they can focus on growing social impact.
That is why we are proud to announce that Neon One has officially partnered with Fluxx, the industry leader in grant management, to provide a pair of ‘affinity bundles’, one for grantmakers and the other for grantseekers.
- The Growth & Giving Toolkit will focus on combining the power of Fluxx’s Grantmaker and the CiviCore Giving Platform to enable community foundations with a full set of integrated tools to generate and manage resources in their communities year round, not just during peak giving cycles.
- The second bundle will focus on creating the first capacity building platform for mission-driven organizations that will not carry a monthly cost. The Fundraising Fundamentals Toolkit will be an integrated platform between Fluxx’s Grantseeker and the upcoming release of the NeonRaise platform that is designed for nonprofits to raise money and manage grants throughout the year. This powerful combination will be designed to scale into the rest of Neon One and Fluxx’s combined ecosystems.
Supporting Grantmakers and Grantseekers
We believe that there are indeed unique requirements to grantmakers and grantseekers—and no single product today meets the collective needs of the industry. We have been listening carefully to both foundations and nonprofits and knew that we could create this resource together.
By establishing a seamless integration between two industry leaders focused around best-in-breed grant and fundraising solutions, we can solve the issues of both foundations and nonprofits. We can connect individual relationships and institutional funding to impact, and we can establish processes to help organizations scale through one unified software solution.
Resources for Nonprofits & Foundations
Growth & Giving Toolkit: As philanthropic leaders, foundations not only manage large investments that affect their community, but they also champion regional “Giving Days” to energize new donors to join in the community’s support of local nonprofits. Combining the donor expertise of Neon One and Fluxx’s celebrated grantmaker solution, foundations will now be able to see their community’s donors, grants, nonprofits, and impact in one unified system, comprehensively illustrating strategy so it is truly useful in scaling operations.
Fundraising Fundamentals Toolkit: By coordinating grants and individual giving, nonprofits will be able to better predict year round revenue as well as the impact of their funds. By curating these two revenue sources, individual nonprofits will be able to streamline their operations, manage more effectively, and in turn raise more money. Tight onboarding procedures that make it easy to get started will help show immediate impact on the organization’s bottom line and solidify year round usage. Lastly, the toolkit is intentionally designed to avoid large upfront costs while still allowing scale at a later date into our combined technological ecosystems.
We are seeing a massive number of donors stop giving to the nonprofits they used to love. One of the biggest reasons cited by donors is that they are concerned about the financial cost it takes to raise money by a nonprofit. Many times, this is not necessarily the fault of the nonprofit but instead due to needing to juggle multiple data sources.
The approach that Neon One and Fluxx will be taking will be designed to allow foundations and nonprofits to focus on the impact of their work, not the resources needed to obtain that impact. Breaking down the barriers between the two largest revenue sources in our sector will energize innovation and get us focused on building sustainability and capacity.
Neon One has been working hard to create a comprehensive ecosystem that addresses any nonprofit needs. We will be working with institutions like the National Council of Nonprofits, foundations that are served by Fluxx and CiviCore, and the 30,000 nonprofits that our company supports to listen to what will create the biggest impact in philanthropy. We have already begun conducting intensive research on the primary areas of the Neon One and Fluxx ecosystems that will help foundations and nonprofits immediately.
This is an exciting partnership that we look forward to debuting formally in the coming months. Interested in learning more? Contact us today.
