Chief Operating Officer

Dave Ryan has more than twelve years of leadership experience growing early-stage and startup firms.  An accomplished sales, marketing and operations executive, his vision and expertise in building new ventures have driven notable growth in several software technology startups.  He has frequently been called upon to serve as the first “business guy” for quickly growing seed-funded companies to sustainability.  He currently serves as the COO of CiviCore.

In addition, Dave has a strong passion for education, particularly as it relates to the at-risk youth population.  As the Board Chair of The Spot, a Denver-based non-profit youth center, Dave helped guide the organization through a variety of transitions, including merging with an organization that served homeless and runaway youth (Urban Peak) and operating in a funding environment greatly affected by the events of September 11th.  During his tenure, The Spot more than tripled the number of graduates from its GED and A+ education programs and was awarded the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s  “Denver Non-Profit of the Year” for business excellence.

Dave earned an MBA from the University of Colorado–Boulder, where he was the recipient of both the Robert K. Anderson Entrepreneurial Fellowship and Harry Trueblood Entrepreneurial Fellowship awards.  He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia.  He remains a very active volunteer in the Denver and Boulder-area non-profit community and is a founding partner of Social Venture Partners, a philanthropy and volunteerism partnership seeking to achieve positive social change using the venture capital approach as a model. 

Dave is an instrument-rated commercial pilot and resides with his wife and two young sons in Denver, Colorado.
